    I have not been following this very thread well, but why on earth would a
    small capacity starting battery draw 100 amps charging? No matter how many
    other fully charged batteries it was connected to unless it had something
    very seriously wrong with it it couldn't. So this is a moot point. It might
    draw 20-30 amps for a short bit of time if it was way, way down and you
    really pushed the voltage to it.

    In any case, having a realtivly good idea of what is inside each type unit,
    it would be my bet that the combiner is far more reliable. -Ken
