    Hi all,

I'd STRONGLY recommend using a DC/DC power converter to power anything
sensitive off of a ship's DC system. These are widely available and are
often disguised as airplane/car adapters. What these do is provide
stabilized DC power for your electronics. Targus makes a particularly
clever one with interchangeable tips so you can provide power to a wide
variety of devices (ie cell phones, PDAs, etc.).

Actually it is the same Samsung monitor that others have been talking
about. I checked the voltage output of my existing DC cable hooked into
he cig lighter and it shows 12.7VDC (the AC brick puts out 12.4VDC).
The units says it is rated to run with an input voltage up to 15VDC so
everything should be fine. The TV tries to start up but looks like it
is not fully powered. I wonder if the DC cable is too thin and I am not
able to supply enough amps. I did check the polarity and it is correct.
      Any ideas?
