    Lee,

What kind of battery banks do you have? BTW, Nassau was where my friend
purchased his Yamaha Endura at a low price.

    |I would like to install an inverter & battery monitor on a catamaran
    | sailboat I am purchasing. Most boaters install a Xantrex all in one
    | inverter/charger/auto switch, like a Freedom 20 with companion
    | monitor/control Link 1000, cost about $1300. The alternative is a stand
    | alone inverter such as Xantrex Prowatt 1750, a Link 10 monitor and a
    manual
    | (Gen/Shore) switch, total cost about $625. The boat already has a modern
    | 40A charger, in the beginning I will use the boat engine alternators for
    | charging (2X 90A), I rarely plug into shore power. Solar panels, 400-500
    | Watts are the future plan.
    | Am I missing anything here? The only advantage I see to a big combo
    inverter
    | is the large 100A charger included, good for use with an onboard genset,
    | which I don't plan on installing.
