Dinghies are also cheaper, especially in St. Martin. Freight from South
America where most of them are manufactured is less than all the way to the
states. The AB Navigo rib is better made than the Zodiac or Caribe and
comparably priced.

I don't know specifically about Tortola, but Yamahas are cheaper in the
Islands than here. There is a most experienced cruiser on the Trawler List
who buys his outboards down there.
