    Lee, my installed system is basically where you're going and it works fine.
    I already had the Xantrax Trucharge 20+ charging unit for when I
    occasionally plug into shorepower. Otherwise the batteries are fed either
    off my 125Amp alternator (MC-612 external regulator) or an 80W solar panel.

    This past fall I installed the Prowatt 1750 inverter for when I needed AC
    power on the hook or underway (wife's hair dryer, vacuum, or - which gets
    the most use - the Blender for "frozen umbrella drinks"!

    It didn't make any sense for me to sell my existing charger just to replace
    it with the Freedom type unit, especially since my current (bad pun!!!) set
    up gives me 1750 watts of AC whereas the smaller Freedom 1000 costs so much.
