MessageHey Ken,
not a problem.
They are ZENIT 7x50 USSR Navy. I was told to hang them on my neck at all times
when in use (and that is that!) and that is a second nature now.
I have an other pair of the same brand military 14x50. Only the thought of using those
on the boat makes me puke.

Ken,
I am sorry if I offended you,
Not at all. I apolgize if it seemed so.
My binoculars are leather lined.
My father bought them used for me when I was 10 (1964)
so I can have my own on the boat. 'Still using them. 46 years plus?
Bushnells?
I guess they are of the good old kind.
Well, also it may be that you have been rather careful how they were treated (sounds like you have good respect for them), were somewhat lucky (I dropped mine 'somewhere in the cockpit' on dark night in a gale before I had widnvane steering, so could only leave the tiller during frantic moments, next morning found they had been getting stomped on a sloshed around in the cockpit drain area all night!) and if they were '64 mfg, they were made to be taken apart and cleaned easily.
Often so called 'lower tech' serves better because it can be better maintained. -Ken Ken
