Norm,
We would be glad to offer you a ride into town if I can only get you to
stop in Melbourne...
Sam and Gina
We would stop in that hateful cesspit of a town just to see you, but for
several years we have not gone south of St Augustine.
We think about it occasionally, but the most interesting town south of St
Auggie is Key West and it is a long drive to get there. In addition, with the
exception of Titusville, most the other places between St Augustine and Key West
are hostile to cruisers. Vero Beach, which we hear occasional good things
about, has refused to let us enter each time we tried, and they forbid anchoring
in their little kingdom. Even Marathon, I hear, is trying to drive everyone
out.
We are reluctant to visit where we are not wanted and prefer to spend our
time and cash where we are welcome. So far, this has been mostly north of St
Augustine, with the great exception of the Great State of Georgia, which has
declared all who live aboard a yacht to be criminals.
