When certain minorities, with extreme agendas,
actively conspire to force their political and
religious views on everyone by means of taking control
of public systems like school boards, then it is not
only fair game, but quite necessary for the rest of us
to shed the light of day on the situation, by talking,
writing, and communicating in any way we can, wherever
we can.
If you are one of those who doesn't like hearing
people's opinions, then you are more than welcome to
say so, as well as to express your own opinions. But
you are not welcome to try to shut us up.
While I agree that this board is not generally about
this type of discussion, nevertheless politics,
religion, and all other aspects of humans living
together, affect boaters as much as they affect anyone
else, perhaps more so, since liveaboards in particular
are a vulnerable minority, and are often treated like
second class citizens. I don't see any reason for
everyone to fly off the handle just because of an
occasional foray into these types of topics.
If anyone wants to start a flame war, then that would
certainly be more appropriate offline, and personally,
I welcome it, as well as discussion on any topic.
