debris outside tghe thruhull, like a plastic bag. when you blow air out, it
pushes the bag away, regular flow in with no suction lets water in. add
suction and it jams back against the thru hull.
happened to me 2 or 3 times in the past couple of years, last time was a
couple of month ago, at 7am on a sunday, the dreaded HPF started flashing on
the control next to my bed ... had to go for a swim...
grab a snorkel, go under and pull it out. (hopefully you're not in Alaska!)
sometimes, blowing or even backflushing isn't enough to clear it. or try
taking the boat at for a spin...
