speaking of diving, I was freediving on the prop to unwind a
jammed line (don't ask, just don't ask) and using a snorkel
with a purge valve in the mouthpiece. it was fairly new, too.
but the purge valve seemed to let in a lot of water -- after
only a few breaths the darned mouthpiece would fill up, argh.
I gave up in the end, took the darned thing off, and just held
my breath like in the old days :-) hyperventilate, dive,
struggle with line, repeat...
it was the first time I tried a snorkel with a valve like this
and I was not impressed -- any comments or advice? is there
a trick to using this feature or was the valve just defective?
