    Hi Folks.

Being a Canadian HAM, I have a VE3 license and also a VE0 "offshore" one.

I am unclear as to when and where either can be used while cruising. I did
spend time visiting our government web site trying to make sense of things.
I can only confirm that the Canadian Government is managing to keep up with
the rest of the world's government in presenting information that is
impossible to find, or when found, ambiguous.

Does Anyone know what the rules are, and also what the common practice is?

    For example:

Where can I legally use my VE3 license? Obviously in Canada. But what about
in the USA, Bahamas, St. Martin...etc.

Where can I legally use my VE0 offshore license? Offshore in international
    waters? Anywhere else?

And, in respect to, or in spite of the laws, what is typical practice while
cruising? I can't imagine cruisers who stop in a place for a few days
applying for and paying for a reciprocol license, even though it may be
    required.

What is the real world practice?

    Jeff
