    A good question. They become the property of insurance companies, which then
    sell them for whatever they can get ... I've seen hurricane-damaged boats
    appearing in Canada, being offered for sale for repair; presumably somebody
    bought them in the US and brought them up here hoping to get a better price.

    I imagine salvaged good parts show up at Sailorman in Lauderdale and at
    other such places ...

    I'm sure others know much more about this!
