    the biggest fan of this method I know is Brent Swain who
    has done a fair amt of tropical cruising. I think there is
    a lengthy discussion of galvy wire anchor rode in the last
    month or two of origamiboats discussion list (yahoogroups).
    various techniques were mentioned for getting a decent
    catenary -- sending a "messenger" weight down the rode iirc
    was the consensus.

    a perusal of origamiboats archive would probably yield lots
    of info.
