I second the recommendation. Thomas Distributing is a good source for
this stuff. I like the german-made Accu-Manager charger for NIMHs. it
runs off 12v dc or an AC wall wart. charges various sizes of batteries,
can charge different sizes simultaneously. NIMHs are good. I find that
they do have a lifetime (or perhaps I have left some of mine absentmindedly
in the charger for too long) -- after a few years (3?) some of mine got kind
of "wrinkly" looking and refused to charge any more.
