I got tired of having all kinds of CD's aboard. They took up way too much
space and finding the one I wanted to hear was a pain.
I bought a hard drive based CD player with a 40GB hard drive. The player is
also capable of storing data files.
I have back up copies of all of my charts on it, all of my music (ripped to
mp3), and I even have a back up image of my pc hard drive on it. I also have
a full back up of that data on a second, removable hard disk drive that I
stow in a hidden location just in case my laptop gets stolen. A spare laptop
hard drive is small (just a little bigger than a credit card) and
inexpensive.
Getting rid of the CD's (music and original charts) was the best thing I
could have done. They are in a trunk in storage, safe from water and theft.
