If I were to carry charts on CD's that I burned yourself, and some goober
attempted to take action against me citing copyright infringement, it's easy
    to manage.

I'd just telll them that the originals of those cd's are at home for safe
keeping. Then I would politely point out that the back up copies that I
would be carrying were made in full compliance with the EULA accompanying
the software or charts that I bought. Indeed almost all EULAs contain a
provision allowing you to make a back up copy of your software for archival
    purposes.

End of discussion. There is nothing that they can do to you if they can not
    prove copyright infringement.
