    The NOAA vector chart coverage is probably better than you think. There are
    over 500 charts and they update them frequently. I bought Coastal Explorer
    and for $300 it is a good deal. I don't know what features you use that CE
    does not have especially in the new edition. Since the owners of Cap'n and
    Nobeltec both own chart companies they have not committed to use the free
    ones since this will negatively affect their bottom lines. Take a look at
