The Toshiba does have wireless.
Where are the big differences between XP HOme and XP Pro? We used to have XP
Pro and now use Home and I haven't noticed any difference for what we do.

Here is my view (fwiw):
Toshiba:
1. bigger screen (Plus)
2. larger disk drive - 100GB vs. 40GB (Plus)
3. DVD RW, including double-layer support (Plus)
4. No wireless build-in (Minus)
5. XP-Home vs. XP-Pro (BIG Minus)
I would get the Toshiba, but upgrade the OS to XP-Pro.
If you store lots of maps, music, pictures a big drive is a must.
If your vision is like mine the bigger the screen the better.
CD/DVD burner almost a necessity to run backup and transfer big files,
and I don'd like another external drive, since you'll need another power
inverter to get 120VAC for it, the laptop can run off the 12VDC with an
adapter.
If you need wireless get an PCMCIA card...
