we have a two-ring baby swimming pool in the cockpit of our trimaran.
our malteze just steps in when she needs cooling down. this works at the
dock and on the hook. as we don't have the same problems as normal
sailboats, 10 to 15 degrees heeling angle when underway, we can do this.
powerboats would be able to do this also.
another little help is to get a pump up power sprayer like the ones you
see in garden centers. fill with water, pump up and mist your puppy a
bit. be sure and reward them after doing this the first few times so
they know this is a reward in itself and not punishment..
and while at dock, we use an a/c when needed.
good luck,
john
