    You could try the new KY "Warming" jelly. (Joke) Seriously, in the
    absence of heat gun or 120V power, a pan of hot water works well. Also,
    consider using hard PVC plastic, home drain tube. There is a 1 1/4" drain
    tailstock piece made that glues to 1 1/4" coupler, then is correct size to
    clamp 1.5" flexible tubing. Hard PVC will not transfer smell, I just took
    out all my 2 year old West Marine white sewer line, due to smell. Mild
    bends can be formed into the hard PVC with a heat gun.
