Hello All,
Happy Memorial Day to all the worlds Veterans.
Now for the disappointing part of my post.
I am considering giving up on Windows for most of
my computer operations. I am already set up to
allow the simple switch from one boot disk to
another, so I want to look into Linux (spelling??)
for my new operating system.
Since I know nothing about operating systems
(except disappointment) I would like to ask for
guidance.
If those of you with the knowledge and experience
would be so kind, I feel I need to learn where to
find the operating system, what it should cost,
user's manuals, guide books, etc.
I also would like links to any 'for beginners' on
line information sources, and any other help you
think I might need.
I expect this will take me several months, but I
have found that my video (ATI All-In-Wonder 9000
Pro) and disk controller (Promise Ultra 133 TS2?)
cards have Linux driver available for them from
the manufacturers. They mention version
requirements but as I know nothing at this time I
can't remember those.
Any help will be appreciated, please contact me
off list at the address below.
