Dear Live-Aboards:
As one of our members pointed out to me, the "Sober.q" virus is
filching people's address-books and this is being exploited by German
neo-nazis (or whatever). Unfortunately, it means that if subscribers'
addresses are in third-party address-books which are compromised, AND if
those addresses are used for "From To:" line forgery, AND if spam with such
specific forgeries is sent to live-aboard, then the spam gets through. It
shows you how big the deluge is, because that's three rather improbable
events conspiring to actually get through. Hopefully with some
counter-measures this problem will be snuffed out in the next few hours, but
it's quite something. See Google News, ask about "German spam" to read about
it.
Cheers,
Stefan
