Although I have not yet made my storm shutters, my plan is to use the
material (1/4" aluminum) I cut out of the deckhouse to install the windows.

I would weld vertical tabs on the deckhouse at the corners of the windows.

I would frame the cut out pieces with angle on the left and right sides with
some of the angle sticking out an inch or so forming a tab on each end of the
angle. On the upper tabs I would install two bolts, one an inch long and the
other two inches long, both pointing the same direction. To install the
shutter I would insert the two inch bolt into a hole in one of the tabs welded
onto the deckhouse at the top of the window, then the shorter bolt.

With the shutter now on the window, I would connect the tabs at the bottom of
the angle to the tabs welded at the bottom of the window with two of those
clevis pins with the pushbutton and two balls.

It would be cool to 5200 a piece of tempered glass or polycarbonate over a
hole in the shutter to let in light and enable you to see outside.

I'm not sure if a gasket would be needed around the edge of the shutter.

Another thing to consider is how and where you would store the shutters. If
you had the space between the bottom of the windows and the deck you could
reverse the above scheme and the shutters could be attached to the deckhouse
below the window in the same way but with the hinge at the bottom of the window
where you could simply swing the shutter up to cover the window.
