The women crew, Sue Bylander and Karen Stimson (sp?),
had years of experience in boats, with CG and merchant
marine, or something like that, and they both lived on
their own boats in Portland Harbor in Maine when I met
one of them.
It's been a few years, so I don't remember the
details, but it was interesting that they tell an
entirely different story from what was written up in
the Perfect Storm. The way they tell it, the owner
was so seasick that he couldn't get out of his bunk,
and he kept demanding that they call the CG until they
finally gave in, but they were against the idea, since
they were able to handle the boat ok.
Poetic license, I guess.
