    Isn't this what an equalizing charge does?

    I wouldn't say it's snake oil, per se, but I'd call it a separator. It's
    designed to separate you from your money without telling you that most new
    battery chargers do the same thing without charging you extra.

    Sorry Steve. but if that is your understanding of equalizing you had better
    do a refresher on battery charging.
    Equalizing is a controlled overcharge but with current limiting set for
    around 5 amps.
    The battery plates are deliberately brought up above the gassing point and
    enough current fed in to create some heat and a lot of gas bubbles. Even the
    charger manufactures recognize this is a damaging process and they do not
    recommend doing to often or for too long each time. Which is why Xantrex
    let me investigate the technology.

    The Pulsetech approach is very different and works on the ionic bonding and
    the valence shells at the molecular level.
    It's not rocket science, its high school physics or chemistry - forget which
    class I took that subject.
    However the patent documents does a creditable job of describing the
    process. It is not hype.

    The Pulsetech product can safely be used on AGM batteries because it does
    not cause out-gassing.
