Next message: Lew Hodgett: "Re: lv-ab: Insulation"
I am considering gooing with spray-on closed cell foam for
my boat. I have found a source for a 'kit' that includes the
2 parts of chemicals in pressurized containers and the hose,
mixer, and spray nozzles. The web site claims 'limited
traing' required. A user I talked to said buy the smallest
'kit' and plan on using at least half of it to learn the
application. Then use the rest on the invisible parts of the
hull interior before buying the larger sizes to finnish the
job.
I plan on gluing a layer of foam sheet (like those sleeping
pads for campers) over the exposed areas of the interior
(like the headliner) and painting that with white vinyl
paint to promote washability.
A 1" thick layer is supposed to provide something like R8
or so insulation.
