not too good all around, as the usual response to a move like this is
for the insulted party (the US in this case) to slap on a mirror-tariff
in the other direction. which would effectively prevent me from ever
bringing my recently-purchased Canadian boat into the US, as I simply
cannot pay the purchase price over again.
what I mean is that these trade wars tend to escalate, and while the
big business interests sometimes find clever ways around the rules,
with all their false-flag operations and armies of lawyers, the small
business person and the consumer get socked in the gut.
aieee. as if buying a boat wasn't already complicated enough, now I
get to worry about this? sigh.
