This post is from TWL2. See footer for information.

We really want something that can move around at a good clip, maybe an
11 or 13 footer. I have two little tikes (5&7)and they like action -
and the Trawler is pretty slow. Thanks for the feedback.

I love my 10 foot Caribe with it's 30HP Johnson. It does scoot when light
and is stable when loaded up.

Hard boats do seem to last longer and ride dryer.

Rubber boats come with giant, built-in, fenders. They have tremendous
buoyancy, I figured about 1800 lbs buoyancy for my little 10 footer. I have never
felt scared in my Caribe, however, when I go full throttle by my myself in flat
water (30 Kt) the rig starts to get a little wiggle as it approaches the edge
of yaw instability. It's a thrill - life on the edge!

You can check the archives for a description of "The White Rabbit". Might be
    under Bandersnatch's Dinghy.

A 12 foot RIB with a light 50HP 2-stroke would fit the bill for stability,
    load carrying and speed.
