Thanks to everyone for all the great feedback and advice.
And also thanks for keeping most of the discussion off-list. Yes, computers are an important tool for sailing (or powering <g>) but since my situation was a home PC on a cable modem I figured it would be best to keep most of the stuff off list as a nod to those on the hook with a wireless dial-up or sat phone connection.
Again, thanks to everyone. The depth of knowledge plus the willingness to share that knowledge on these lists is always amazing.
Anyway, back to sailing or motoring!!!!
