Steve,
Zone Alarm is an excellent product. Easy to use, and fairly easy to
setup. It's more than likely that Your Windows firewall interacted with Zone
alarm and tried to prevent it from running. I'd uninstall SP2 if you've got
it running before Attempting to run Zone alarm.

Subject: lv-ab: Help with a non-sailing computer problem for you guru's
out there
I realize this is way off the sailing topic but recently I saw a number of
posts from some obviously very knowledgeable computer or IT types and I
could use some help.
Essentially I just recently downloaded the ZoneAlarm Pro software for it's
firewall capabilities. I am definitely NOT computer literate. The download
had screwed up my computer (made Internet Explorer disappear, screw up my
email, etc.) so I did a system restore to a previous date and am back to my
SP2 firewall.
ZoneAlarm wants $3.00/minute to help me with reinstalling the program and
tweaking it to run correctly on my computer. No such thing as a
"one-free-call-for-installation-help". I'm so mad that a company puts out a
product and then refuses to help you install it except through a
tech-support profit center.
Does anyone have any suggestions about other good firewall software which
cares enough about it's customers to allow one free installation help call?
Thanks,
Steve Weinstein
