    No, periodic deep discharge is a different process to equalization.

    AGM batteries theoretically need equalization but the process would have to
    be at a very low current over an extended time to avoid any gassing which is
    destructive. I don't know how successful such a slow equalization would be
    but it is probably safer to skip equalizing AGM batteries.

    Would this Navy practice be the equivalent of equalization? Do AGM batteries
    require equalization? If not, does the Navy use them?
