    Hi Dick,
    I have had the Dickinson Newport diesel heater in my
    boat for two seasons and was not happy with it. It
    gave off a lot of soot on the cabin top. I than switch
    to the propane Newport model that Dickinson sells and
    have been very happy with it. You do have to have a
    propane and carbon monoxide detector, just for piece
    of mind that you will be able to wake up in the
    morning.
