Sam
ouch! every skipper's 2nd worst nightmare. the worst
being the one where people are lost as well as the boat.
your photos gave me a real adrenalin hit, a faint echo
of what you must have felt -- let me add my condolences/
sympathy to the "virtual wreaths" being offered by others
onlist. good luck with the underwriters.
and speaking of underwriters,
thanks to all who wrote with insurance advice, btw. I found a
way to solve the problem, getting what seems to me a pretty
good deal. I prefer not to advertise large commercial outfits
online (they can pay for their own advertising) but if anyone's
curious or shopping around themselves, you can drop me a line
privately to hear more. the boat is now officially mine (mixed
joy and dread) and I hope to be living happily aboard in a
couple of years after some remodelling of the interior. let's
see, the formula is "double the units and then add 50 percent",
right?
