Will your newly-purchased boat be in the water for its "repair and
upgrade activity?" If not, I surmise that it might be possible NOT to
register it as a B.C. vessel. [But then, I'm in Oregon, and you asked
for expert Canadian opinion. Sorry.
The experts on California taxation are, of course, the California tax
people. Put your question about California state sales/use tax to them.
