What I did with mine was to make a think paste of polyester resin
using cabesel (maybe cavisel??) to thicken it. Using strips of
wood screwed through it, I held the copper screen next to the
surface, then smeared the paste on it between the strips. Once it
hardened, I removed the strips and coverd those areas. At that
point, it was completely encased in resin. It's worked well for 10
years.
