I still haven't figured out a relatively cheap method of moving a Searunner
37 from California to Florida. So... I'm doing more research on the amount of
time it should take to sail the trip myself. I can get 3 months off of work
and still collect a paycheck from one of my jobs which should cover my
    personal food costs.

How long should it take to go from SF Bay in CA, through the Canal, the
Caribbean, and the Gulf to Tampa Bay in FL if I were in a hurry? I suppose
"hurry" is relative- I couldn't afford to run the engine for long passages (that's
why I go for sailboats) and would be relying almost exclusively on the sails.
Oh, this would be during June, July, and August.

How much should it cost a 9000lb boat to go through the Canal?

Will my Conch Republic passport be accepted or will I have to get an US
    passport?
