I stripped varnish from the cabin sole and refinished. My cabin sole is
veneer and obviously I had to be very careful.
I found scrapers at Home Depot that are actually made of wood, for use in
removing finishes on antiques and delicate wood.
The scrapers worked GREAT and in fact I was able to get a bit agressive with
a few tough spots too. I applied furniture stripper, waited the requisite
amount of time and it came off quite easily with the wooden scrapers. THen I
lightly sanded (really lightly) and finished.
