I recommend a battery meter that shows amp hours removed/replaced from the
battery bank. Running the Diesel every several days might not do it, the
only way to tell is with the meter, or careful calculations from a digital
volt meter. There are so many variables: battery size & condition,
connection quality, alternator size, type of regulator (The internals don't
give full charge for very long), then the amperage and hours run of each
piece of gear. Without the meter, you just don't have much info to go on.

    > We found it very practical to load up the fridge with beer and cool it
down using shore power. The beer would keep cold for about three days (no
drinking before 5 PM). As you should run the diesel every couple of days or
so, a one hour run every three days will be enough to recool the beer down
    to a nice frosty temperature.
