I don't have an Engel. I have a $25 peltier cooler from the drug store with about an inch of insulation. It draws 2.5 amperes or so (ran the car battery dead over-night).
This little cheapie holds six beer cans and takes 12 hours to cool them -- and not too adequately at that. It doesn't get down to zero F even with nothing in it... I don't recommend this type of thing.
