Following the malfunction (after only 25 years!) of my old LectraSan timer
switch, I ordered a new timer mechanism kit from Holt Marine. The kit
consists of a mechanical rotary timer, an electronic switch (with a new face
plate) which delays the start of the chlorinator plates and macerator until
the mixer has run for 30 sec., the appropriate pre-assembled wires and clear
instructions for installing the parts in the old control box. Things are
pretty tight, but it all fits and I can report that it works perfectly. The
kit is is a little pricey ($145), but beats upgrading to the electronic
version of the LectraSan and makes the unit easy to use for guests (if it
was just me, I'd have put in two toggle switches to replace the timer).
I have no financial interest in Holt. Just a satisfied customer. Their web
site is: www.holtmarinesystems.com.
