My Cape Horn wind vane came with the necessary parts for a tiller pilot
installation.

click on “Integrated Models” on the left side menu and, scroll down to
“Space for auto pilot”
You might want to check with the manufacturer about using a tiller
pilot. They should be able to provide proper instructions if it is
doable.
Also, I’ve successfully used the wind vane while motoring and the sails
down. As long as there is an apparent wind the wind vane should work.
