I've sailed since the mid 80's, and flew small planes for much of the 80's
and 90's.
Docking a boat is FAR easier than landing a plane.
Ever tried backing up and starting over when on final approach?
Doesn't seem to work for me in an airplane, but it's pretty easy in a boat :
)
On the other hand, I've never had anyone stand on the runway and screw up my
landing by interfering, so maybe it's all the same in the end.
