We used to own a Folkes 39 cutter rig , hard chine boat. Displacement was
20,000 and she was a gem to dock. Very easy to dock.
Now we have Cape Dory 30 and she is a different animal to dock.
This boat really get pushed around by the wind especially if we have a cross
wind while docking but the Folkes did not have that problem. Both boats are
    full cut away keels.
So it is a learning experience again for me. I am thinking about getting more
training in docking. Everyone says practice ,practice but I certainly do not
want hurt my boat and someone else while I practice. That is about were I am
at the present. It is much easier for me to sail through heavy winds than dock
the boat. I also owned a Cal 27 with a tiller that was pretty easy to dock.

this disucssion is helpful to me
    Thanks
    Judy
    Cape Dory 30
