    Hi

I am thinking of installing a fresh water wash down on deck, plumbed to the
    fresh water pump.

    My reasoning is as follows:

    - I am installing a watermaker and hope to have an adequate supply of fresh
water. I am not putting in a really high output watermaker though.

    - I want to give the lower rigging a rinse now and then to keep the rusties
at bay. I'd also like to rinse the windlass off too. Salt water seems like a
bad idea for such tasks. I'm not talking about daily here, but after
passages or maybe once a week.

    - I am trying to avoid cutting another thru hull into the boat.

I would like to solicite opinions from those who have more experience
though. Is putting in a fresh water washdown and bad idea?

    Jeff
