That would involve losing the Freon and then having to pump it down, add new
filters and fresh refrigerant plus the added risks of contamination every
time you open a sealed system.
I assumed that this process was going to be done in-situ. If it has already
been removed, the obvious choice would be to replace it with a new one and
not mess with trying to clean it.
