I do weld using the 3M welders masks which are shallow enough to fit
underneath my helmet. However, I find they are uncomfortable for any
length of time because I get really hot and because I am rebreathing
my old air.
Do these Axispro half masks protrude very much in front of the face?
That is, would they fit under a welding helmet.?
I have an oiless air compressor and I had wondered about rigging this
up to give a fresh air supply into the helmet. However, I am unsure
about the quality of the air coming out of the compressor. Can anyone
recommend air filters that can be used with such a compressor? This
would be a lot cheaper that buying an Axispro system - as long as it
would not kill me!
Don.
BTW. I have a Lincoln Ultrashade Silver automatic helmet which I
think is wonderful compared to the old helmets. This is Lincoln's
cheapest automatic helmet, but it works like a charm with my mig
welder. The quality of my welds has improved significantly now that I
can see where I am starting from.
