    Norm,
Can you use Kroil in a situation like that? Also, if you were paying $85 an hour, what would the labor charge have been? As I understand it, 2-cycle DDs are fairly straight forward to work on - not that I could do it. My Vista 43 boat deal fell through on engine survey.

Have a chuckle: Detroit manual states "Grasp two opposite impeller blades (if there any left!) with pliers and withdraw impeller from pump body." I did just this, but needed two long-nose Vicegrips pulled on by a come-along, applied a long punch and large hammer to shake the affected parts and a propane torch to further encourage movement. Two hours later I managed to "withdraw the impeller..."
