I have lived aboard a 25 ft sailboat since '79...in both warm and fairly
cold climates...and it is just fine. (BTW I agree, I don't use the shower on
the boat while tied up in a marina, it is not worth the extra trouble) I
have lived aboard with up to three dogs and a girlfriend (yes, she thought
the boat was too small, the dogs didn't mind). Don't let anybody tell you it
is impractical...it all depends on what you want.
