    Otherwise it is not
even dinghy friendly unless things have changed since.

But Beaufort SC, on your way up, is very friendly with a free dinghy dock
and marina right downtown. We own Hemingways which is about 200 yards East
of the dinghy dock facing the waterfront park. Call in and ask for Andina.
I'm usually only a few minutes away.
We have had no problems docking our dinghy at the Charleston City Marina
while anchored in the opposite side of the stream from the marina. Enter from the
south (downstream) end and look for the other dinghies at the dock's main
avenue to the shore. The "official" dinghy dock provided is dry at low tide and
    impossible to use.

Sometimes Andina will show up to visit and sometimes not. The last time we
were in Beaufort was last year when we came inshore there northbound mainly to
visit with Andina and Lea, but they were busy.

We skipped the town on the southbound.
