professionally mastered shps, but a legal ships log must be hard-bound so that no pages
can be removed. This is so if there was an accident to persons or other boats
any log information could not be changed after the fact. Anyone want to check

Some Captains would simply rip out the offending pages like the on Russian
ship that crossed over the centerline in the Malacca Straits when I was near
there and crashed into an on-coming towed vessel.
They simply tore out the relevant course recorder chart paper.
